According to the Trussell Trust, an emergency food bank parcel is given out every 13 seconds here in the UK.
Between April 2022 and March 2023, food banks across the Trussell Trust network have distributed almost three million emergency food parcels to people who cannot afford the essentials, with 347,976 of the parcels being provided in the North West.
Charities such as Samaritans, Age UK, the RSPCA and the Trussell Trust are just some who have joined the NSPCC, who run Childline, for the Big Help Out.
Items donated at Spencer Group’s head office in Hull are delivered to Hull Foodbank in Paragon Street, Hull city centre, every fortnight and are distributed to four other Trussell Trust foodbanks across the city.
The Aberdeenshire North Foodbank, supported by the Trussell Trust, operates and runs five food banks across the north-east including pick up and drop off points in Inverurie, Ellon, Huntly, Fraserburgh and Peterhead.
The project raised more than £500 in public donations for the Trussell Trust in Bristol.
